Time IS money, and one of the easiest ways to start cutting costs is the maximize your time management. Start with the basics:
- Email. Email has a way of throwing us off track. Set FIRM times (maybe 2x each day) to review and act upon incoming email.
- To-do lists. Be firm with this and try to cross off at least one or two items each day. Interruptions happen, but try to stay on track.
- Phone calls. Unexpected phone calls can also toss you off schedule. If the call cannot be handled quickly, ask the person on the other end if you can reschedule the call for later in the day or at another time to keep you on task.
- The last 1/2 hour of each day - go over your schedule for the next day and eyeball the schedule for the remainder of the week. This will mentally prepare you for what is to come the following day.
